LONDON TO CAPETOWN RALLY

CHECK OUR BLOG FOR THE LATEST UPDATES ON THIS PROJECT

The big project in the shop right now is a 2011 4-door Jeep Wrangler that is going on a trip from London, England to Capetown, South Africa in just 29 days.

This is a time trial rally that will cover approximately 8,000 miles through every imaginable terrain. The jeep will be extensively modified for the trip, but primarily for the purpose of safety and handling.
The Jeep will be getting a full cage that will bolted to the frame for safety. The engine will only be getting an intake, exhaust and a programmer because the rules of the rally limit what we can add to the vehicle.

There are about 2 dozen vehicles on the rally with a driver and navigator that must run the entire length without replacements. This is not the baja 1000 with a big backup crew and team, if you break it then you fix it. The rally will be a testament to the type of vehicles running in it, only the best will survive.
The axles will be extensively reinforced to prevent any bending as well as all of the axle brackets. The suspension is quite limited but we are doing larger diameter sway bars and a set of high end triple bypass shocks. The steering and front bumper will be replaced for protection and strength and the list goes on and on!

We will be documenting all of the modifications so stay tuned for some great information. all of the products and services related to this jeep are also offered to anyone who needs.

Please stay tuned to this build!

The project will go quickly, as the jeep needs to be driveable by September 1st, and on a barge to England by October 1st.  The Rally will begin on the 1st of January 2012.
